"I Want the World to Know, I Got to Let It Show"

So I am not dead, just really busy.

I guess I will start this entry just like I did my last, by apologizing for not writing much. Since last post I have been doing about the same stuff: classes, homework, writing, having fun with the awesome Guilford kids, and cheering. Most recently, though, I was home for a week for fall break. I saw many of my friends back home including all the state-school kids who only had a few days off for fall break and not a whole week (haha).

Next up, the Guilford College "Coming Out Ball." It was awesome, to say the least. Sponsored by the school and the Guilford Pride, it was a good reason for guys to cross-dress and girls to wear...um, nothing (or close to it). That night, my floor had a birthday party/costume party in our lounge for a girl on our hall. Later, we all went to the coming out ball together. Seeing as I was dressed as Miss America for the birthday party, I decided to change into jeans and a shirt for the coming out ball. Whoa was I over dressed. Even the cross-dressed guys had less clothing on then I did.

At first, it was a bit weird, I'll admit (especially because Guilford has a very "open" clothing policy). Everyone there was dressed different, mostly there wasn't much clothing on, but people were in everything from Halloween costumes to tuxes. After I got over the initial shock of the lack of clothing, I had a great time. It was honestly one of the most fun things I've done here. Everyone was dressed how they wanted and did what they wanted. They played all kinda of crazy songs and we all sang along and danced.

When is good ol' North Davidson gonna have a coming out ball?
